The Significance of the Award

The arrival of our brothers and sisters participating in the 400 Year of Our Return Back to Africa in 2019 was a very historic, emotional and momentous occasion which no doubt demonstrated that " Come Back Home" cannot happen in one day, month or year and needed time to facilitate the home coming of more people of African descent. It is for this reason that IRMA has been involved in homecoming initiatives since 2019 such as 400YOUR, the Afri-Ca-ribbean Festival & Events’ Carnival and the 215th commemoration of abolition of slave trade and partnered with ADDI in 2022 to institutionalize this Award through PAC for the entire AU 6th Region to benefit.
