IRMA 2019
In Commemoration of 400 Years since the first ship sailed from the West African Coast carrying Africans as slaves in 1619 dubbed 400 Years of Our Return (400YOUR), IRMA participated in the processes leading up to the Commemoration hosted by the African Union, held in September 2019 at the Pan African Parliament(PAP).Building on the 400YOUR planned homage to Gore Island, IRMA conceptualized the Idea of a Symbolic Ship to sail from Dakar's Port du Dakar dubbed as the “Door of Our Return" to Gore Island popularly known as the " Door of No Return” to symbolize the Home Coming of the descendants of People of African Descent. IRMA worked in partnership with the AU Embassy to the United States in Washington DC and the Embassy of Senegal to the US in Washington DC. To decogest the 400YOUR program in 2019, the Symbolic Cruise and Award Ceremony was postponed to 2020 which was Renamed the year of a New Beginning. However, the advent of COVID19 in early 2020 made it impossible to realise this noble dream which IRMA and ADDI picked up in 2022 for implementation in the Post Covid Era)
IRMA 2020
In Commemoration of 1 Year Since the outbreak of the COVID19 Global Pandemic, IRMA in Partnership with the James Makamba Foundation organized an Internatonal ceremony to honour the lives of millions of people who had lost their lives from Covid 19 in general and in particular honour posthumously the Late Zororo Makamba whose 1st Memorial on 23 March 2021 marked one year under Covid 19 dispensation. His untimely death was a key milestone as the First Zimbabwean to succumb to Covid as his sudden death became a National Wake up call on the pandemic, there by attracting immediate government interventions for prevention and treatment of the Pandemic. During the commemoration, IRMA stepped in to recognize this young man's talent by naming its Communication, Broadcasting and Media Award in of his name for his outstanding contribution to the theme during his short, purposely lived and highly achieved life.
IRMA 2021
In Commemoration Of 215 YEARS Since “abolition of Slave Trade” IRMA approached ENCO Communications to promote the idea of a Symbolic Cruise “Door of Our Return To Door of No Return” along the Cape Coast. The ENCO Pre-launch inaugural awareness series were held from July - Sept 2021 as well as Jan 2022. The events attracted people of African descent from the United States, the Caribbean, local and international media, diplomatic corps, NGOs, private sector and African leaders as well as African Diaspora based in Ghana as well as the general public.
IRMA 2022
In Commemoration of the 12 Pan African Congress (PAC) and following IRMA's participation in ADDI Come Back Home initiative held in Ghana in December 2021, ADDI and IRMA have been working on a Partnership that would facilitate the Recognition and Awarding of outstanding people of African Descent in AU's 6th Region through the ADDI Annual Home Coming initiatives.
In this regard IRMA has partnered with ADDI in preparation of the 12 PAC conference for AU 6th Region and will be part if the ADDI Come Home initiative through which it will roll-out Awards Annually.
